Full-timeGraduateBathurst NSWCA Support

Accumen is an accounting and business advisory firm on William Street in the CBD of Bathurst. We offer accounting and advisory services mainly to businesses and Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF) owners.

We’re a progressive, forward-thinking team of experts — a close-knit team that values education and continued learning. We’re nurturers who enjoy sharing our knowledge and expertise with those willing to learn.

What we do

  • Accounting services including tax planning and compliance, reporting, business structuring and cloud accounting.
  • Business advice including strategic and business planning, budgeting and forecasting, and business structuring.
  • Personal wealth including defining big-picture goals, property investment and gearing, super and SMSF.

What we can offer you

  • A fantastic work culture in a boutique team.
  • Challenging projects, great business clients and strong client relationships.
  • A supportive environment that’s perfect for personal development and extending your business skills.
  • A progressive business with leading technology.
  • An employer of choice with an outstanding reputation in the Bathurst community.

You’ll thrive in this role if you

  • Are passionate about providing your clients with the best tools for their success.
  • Are a critical thinker who can work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Are a sponge — excited to learn and constantly looking for new skills to acquire.
  • Articulate your ideas and communicate well with others.
  • Have exceptional interpersonal skills with a highly professional presence.
  • Are keen to develop and implement strategies and tax advice to assist our business clients.
  • Love working directly with clients — building rapport and maintaining strong relationships.

Who we’re looking for

  1. A graduate accountant seeking full-time employment.
  2. An Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident.
  3. Positive, enthusiastic, self-motivated and mature-minded.
  4. Organised, with a high attention to detail.

The work you’ll do

As a qualified graduate you’ll own client work end to end and grow quickly into advisory and review responsibilities:

  • Prepare and complete financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs — taking files from source data through to review-ready.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS and manage clients’ ongoing compliance obligations and deadlines.
  • Contribute to tax planning, business structuring and advisory work — developing and helping implement strategies that grow our clients’ businesses and build their wealth.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients as a direct point of contact, building rapport and maintaining strong, trusted relationships.
  • Use MYOB and Xero to a high standard (Xero-certified, or working toward it) and help clients get the most from cloud accounting.
  • Review and support cadets and junior staff, sharing knowledge as part of our team culture.
  • Progress your Chartered Accountant (CA Program) study with our mentoring and support, working toward advisory and, in time, leadership roles.

You’ll do this with the support and structured mentoring of our qualified team — with genuine responsibility from the start and a clear path to take on more.
